JAMB past questions & answers

Practise UTME past questions for every subject, topic by topic, with clear explanations. Learn the patterns JAMB repeats and walk into the exam ready.

Why JAMB past questions work

The Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), set by JAMB, tests the same core topics year after year. Questions are rarely copied word for word, but the ideas, question styles and traps repeat. When you practise JAMB past questions you learn three things at once: what JAMB likes to ask, how the questions are worded, and how fast you need to work.

That is why students who practise past questions topic by topic usually feel calmer in the exam hall. They have seen the patterns before.

How to practise JAMB past questions properly

  1. Go topic by topic first. Finish all the past questions on one topic (for example, Physics: Motion) before moving on. iSharp groups every question by topic so you can do this easily.
  2. Read every explanation, even when you're right. You may have guessed. The explanation shows the method JAMB expects.
  3. Redo your mistakes. iSharp's mistake drills bring back every question you missed until you get it right.
  4. Check what others got wrong. The options most students choose wrongly are the traps you need to know.
  5. Move to timed practice. Once a subject feels comfortable, switch to JAMB CBT practice and work against the clock.
  6. Ask when you're stuck. Snap a photo of the question and Ivy, your study buddy, explains it step by step.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Reading textbooks for weeks without answering any questions.
  • Memorising answers instead of understanding the method.
  • Ignoring Use of English because “it's just English”. It carries the same marks as each of your other subjects.
  • Never practising under time pressure before exam day.
  • Studying all night just before the exam instead of resting.
Always confirm official details. Exam formats, dates and rules can change from year to year. Check the latest information on the official website of the exam body before you register or sit the exam.

Frequently asked questions

Are JAMB past questions repeated?

Exact questions are rarely repeated, but the topics, question styles and common traps come up again and again. That is why practising past questions topic by topic is so effective.

How many past questions should I practise daily?

Most students do well with 40 to 80 questions a day, plus a review of the explanations. Consistency matters more than doing hundreds in one day.

Can I practise JAMB past questions offline?

Yes. Download offline study packs in the iSharp app and practise without data.

Does iSharp have explanations for answers?

Yes. Every question comes with an explanation, and you can ask Ivy, your study buddy, for more detail or snap a photo of any question.
